Joe Ferraro Band – Blue Cafe

joe ferraro band

Sherry and I spent last night enjoying the blues stylings of co-worker Joe Ferraro and his band playing a short set at the Blue Cafe in Huntington Beach. Joined by a few dozen friends, had a wonderful time out of the office, and seeing the personal and human-side of life. He’s inspired me to begin developing a blues-style of guitar playing. Will definitely keep track of his future gigs.

Works In Progress

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

Well, its been 6 months since I started playing guitar, and here are the songs being worked on – in no particular order. If you are a musician, I’m sure I’m not dazzling you with fantastic chord progressions or frenetic fret-boarding, but I’m having fun:

Badge – Cream
Ramble Tamble – Creedence Clearwater Revival
I Heard It Through The Grapevine – Creedence Clearwater Revival
Won’t Get Fooled Again – The Who
Sheena Is A Punk Rocker – The Ramones
Rock and Roll High School – The Ramones
Wish You Were Here – Pink Floyd
House of the Rising Sun – Frijid Pink
Mad World – Gary Jules
Rock and Roll Queen – Mott the Hoople
Sweet Jane – Lou Reed

Working on the chords, arpeggios and trying not to watch the fingers. Probably spend an hour or two each night, and the finger-tip callouses are thickening on the left hand. Starting to sound like music, and when I plug into the practice amp, I can sense a rocknroll-geezer in the making.
