Forgetting His Roots?

One of the most influential people in hip-hop industry, Russell Simmons, urged recording and broadcast industries to forbid the use of racist words such as “b**ch,” “ho” and “n***er” in all of the future recordings. In a statement released on Monday, Russell Simmons and Dr. Benjamin Chavis argue that words such as “ho”,”n***er” and “b***h” are derogatory and disrespect people’s suffering over the past few centuries.

“We recommend that the recording and broadcast industries voluntarily remove/bleep/delete the misogynistic words ‘bitch’ and ‘ho’ and the racially offensive word ‘n***er.’,” Simmons and Chavis said in a joint statement.

Hey, isn’t this the same guy that made his claim-to-fame with that series of insanely offensive Def Comedy Jam specials on HBO? I’m pretty open-minded, and can take almost anything that you can throw down the pipe, but the language on those shows and the sterotypical delivery of the performers on the show put this on my “must avoid” list of programs.

Hmmm, seems like he has no problem with such acceptablly standard expletives such as f**k, s**t, and c**t. I guess when you are an important media mogul, you gotta draw the line somewhere.

Yo… an idiot.
