My Finnish friend, Kimmo, posted this link in the Record Collectors Guild forum. For those of you who are into progressive rock, here is an opportunity to discover some bands from the early-mid ’70’s that you may never have heard. There is something mystical about listening to music in a language you don’t understand.

I encourage you to explore the site. Even though you may not understand what you are reading, I’m sure you will grasp the concept of clicking on a video to get it to play.

About the site: The archives of YLE, the Finnish Broadcasting Company, have been opened to the public. Elävä arkisto (The Living Archive) is a free internet service through which you can listen to voices from the past and watch the progress of history on the small screen. The website presents the visitor with a library containing hundreds of television programmes and thousands of radio programmes in both Finnish and Swedish.

Lightning strikes twice in Southern California!

Here we are, not even a week after Ian Hunter played The Grove of Anaheim, and I find out he has penciled in yet ANOTHER visit to Southern California on June 16 to promote the release of his new CD “Shrunken Heads”. Even more bitchen, he will be playing The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano - 10 minutes down the freeway.

If you never heard of the Wildhearts, I suggest you check out the collection of videos posted on youtube. I love their harmonies and sound; a throwback to some of my favorite rock bands from the 70’s.
