“Cerebration” by Brian M. Weidemann – The World Bri’ed Web
I guess you’ve lost your mind, and that’s no cause for cerebration.
The glistening neural labyrinthine array of circuitry
That binds the brain is often prone to surge of underestimation.
It’s likened to your weakness, quite a possibility
Of beads of sweat above your brow—the urge of mental condensation—
As it’s probing for the pulse of my cerebral penetration.

Happy Birthday Justin

Added a news headline applet to this page (see above) so that every day, there will be something different that might draw repeat customers. Currently, I am the only person on the planet to have weidemannia listed in my daily “to do” list.

A Joke

Saturday, August 24th, 2002

A well-dressed business man walks into a coffee shop with a bucket of #!#& in one hand, and a shotgun in the other. He orders & drinks a cup of coffee, then throws the &%^& in the air, shoots it, and leaves.

Two days later, he returns & orders another cup of coffee. The shopkeeper says “I don’t think so. We’re still cleaning up from the last time you were here. What the hell was that all about?!?”

The man replies “I’m training to be a consultant. I show up, drink coffee, shoot the &^*@, then disappear for two days.”

Site Design Improvements

Friday, August 9th, 2002

In a never ending journey to continually modify the website, I’ve now decided to “balance” the page, by centering the content in an 800 wide panel in the middle of the screen. I realize that this tends to now cramp the graphic images, and since most of the designs are in landscape mode, they appear much smaller than before. Maybe I’ll begin to develop some designs to better take advantage of the portrait orientation. Or I may play around with opening up an additional browser window for displaying them in all their glory.

In other places around the site, you will find some new designs in the cybart gallery. I also added a feature on threefour that allows visitors to add their favorite Ian Hunter lyrics or quotes into a rotating message.

Room Mates

Saturday, August 3rd, 2002

It’s all about the private jet, brunch, football game and concert. Any two people who would do these things together would no doubt exchange some words to pass the time. What could they talk about?

if you tried and failed, and tried and failed again but increased your budget through the process your “trialability levels of discounted cash flow have been met” [ksc]

Which Ware Wins?

Thursday, August 1st, 2002

…and it gets better now, as now the barriers between professional and personal relationships become a bit more blurry or fuzzy. Seems like the soft things, which are perceived as the “hard things”, may not be as hard as some of the softies with hard-ons for hardware (i.e. tools) think. Once again, those with passion will ultimately rise above the brooding, analpore offspring.

20th WCP: Identity, Intersubjectivity and Communicative Action No longer conceived of then as an initially isolated entity attempting to communicate with the world, consciousness is revealed as a “Pole” of experience, (20) already in Intentional or communicative relation to the world. (21) While this world, colored as it is by the totality of those values, attitudes, beliefs, feelings, aspirations and “fundamental project”, etc., which, Sartre has argued, (22) constitute our consciousness or identity, therefore provides our clearest reflection. (23) This then is perhaps why we often refrain from discussing politics, sex and religion with all but our intimates. As Don Ihde has pointed out: … in spite of Husserl’s surface language of egology, of transcendental idealism, of solipsism, the subject, even in the Husserlian sense, does not know itself directly. Rather, it knows itself only in correlation with and through the mirror of the World. The Other reveals me to myself in a way which radically modifies any naive or direct self knowledge. (24)

Note: One couldn’t make up shit like this if you tried…
